Foo fighter - the pretender

Analysis of lyrics
my interpretation

Keep you in the darkYou know they all pretendKeep you in the darkAnd so it all began.kept in the dark, politicians/people in power, not being told the truth, and the beginning of a revolution?.
Send in your skeletonsSing as their bones go marching in againThey need you buried deepThe secrets that you keep are ever readyAre you ready?.Skeletons could refer to secrets (skeletons in closet), calling army/force to battle, they need any resistance to stopped in its path (possible involve killing), Using secrets against you threats etc.
I'm finished making senseDone pleading ignoranceThat whole defense.done with being unaware of what is going on, and using ignorance as an excuse to defend one's self from criticisms..
Spinning infinityBoy, the wheel is spinning meIt's never ending, never endingSame old story.spinning infinity could refer to the system 'spinning stories' by spin doctors. the never ending problems being scapegoated onto the Innocent. and its always the same story..
What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretenderWhat if I say that I will never surrender?.stating that there not a pawn of the state to be used. and accusing them of pretending/lying. saying that he wont give up.
What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretenderWhat if I say that I'll never surrender?.The repetition could be used to reinforce the idea of not giving up.
In time or so I'm toldI'm just another soul for sale, oh wellThe page is out of print, we are not permanentWe're temporary, temporarySame old story.Selling your soul to the devil in this case to another person for money. Page is out of print saying that the contract doesn't cover everything. not permanent referring to that there existence isn't permanent and even if they sell out it wont  save them. Same old story, about this has been happening for a long duration..
What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretenderWhat if I say that I'll never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretenderWhat if I say I will never surrender?
I'm the voice inside your head you refuse to hearI'm the face that you have to face, mirrorin' your stareI'm what's left, I'm what's right, I'm the enemyI'm the hand that'll take you down, bring you to your kneesSo who are you? Yeah, who are you?Yeah, who are you? Yeah, who are you?.Ignoring of there conscience they know somthing is wrong but refuse to listen to it. that there reflection is some how judging them, That its whats left of them (real them) and that the real them is the enemy. that if they listen to the conscience it will bring them to there knees in shame, asking who they are (lost identity), again asking who they are and not what they've become..
Keep you in the dark, you know they all pretend.Repeating that there kept in the dark .
What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretenderWhat if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretenderWhat if I say that I'll never surrender?
What if I say you're not like the others?(Keep you in the dark)What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?(You know they all pretend)You're the pretenderWhat if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?(Keep you in the dark)What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?(You know they all pretend)You're the pretenderWhat if I say I will never surrender?
So who are you? Yeah, who are you?Yeah, who are you?.Asking the auidience who they are, maybe an atempt to try and get through to them e.g. use of repitition
